If you get a chance, stop by Jack's Country Restaurant for an amazing breakfast or lunch, and enjoy some amazing art on display.

Spotlight on grade three

Picture
Mrs. Formica's class recently completed beautiful pottery baskets with handles. Students were introduced to the multi step process clay must go through when making a project out of clay. For this project, they were instructed on how an artist builds a bowl using many coils that resemble what I refer to as coiled cinnamon buns. Shown are some examples of finished glazed baskets with their handles ready for the art show. Come check out all the amazing clay projects the students have been working on at our art show May 19.

Mrs. Burt's students in grade 2 had the opportunity to learn about the artist Paul Klee and his cubist style of painting during art class recently. Students designed tropical fish of their choice, and turned them into beautiful cubism pictures mimicking Paul Klee's style . Warm or cool color crayons were used to color in each part of their fish, and a watercolor wash was used for the background. I'm excited to share these paintings with you.

Spotlight on Mrs. Barse's fourth grade

Mrs. Barse's class recently created beautiful tropical fish sculptures which were used as centerpieces for the annual CAS Volunteer Recognition Banquet. Here is just a sampling of what the students made. Be sure to check the rest of them out at our annual art show on May 3.
