Students in Mrs. McKenzie's room recently put their finishing touches on their sculptures of sheep using packing peanuts. They are very excited to show off their projects at the art show May 24th, 6:30-8:00 pm.
News from the art roomNotes from Mr. Granucci, in the Art Room
Within the next week you will have all received the wonderful artwork your child has created this year, home safely and in one piece. You may want to take some time to hang some of the pieces or put them on display in your homes. Many parents often tell me that they select a few pieces to have framed. That truly warms my heart, and I’m sure your child will love to see how much you appreciate their works of art too! Many thanks to all the wonderful parents who helped me out this year with the art show. I am so grateful to have had your support with helping to mount and label hundreds of pieces of art created by our HES children during the year. In addition, thank-you to all the parents who showed up to help hang up the art show on May 23rd. You all certainly turned a potential stressful day into a great one! Over the next week we will be in the process of slowly removing the art work from the walls in the hallways. If you could lend a hand for a few hours whenever is convenient for you, that would be great! My only request is whatever you have time to take down, remember to remove all the tape from the back, sort the art by classroom, and deliver to the outside of each classroom by the classroom teacher’s door. Please consider joining our great group of parents to help out next year with mounting and hanging the art work for our annual art show in May 2018. Have a great summer! Mr. Granucci |
