What a busy few weeks we have had in the art room! The students have been learning all about sculpture and 3-dimensional art. Each class has been creating different farm animals from recycled supplies. Once their armature (or bones) is structurally sound, we then spend a class adding either paper mache' or paris craft as a layer of skin. Most classes have completed this step, and are now ready to begin the painting process. We will be painting the sculptures in a non traditional, or surreal way, rather than realistic colors. Expect to see lots of fluorescent colors and metallic colors, which should add a nice creative touch to their sculptures. The art show is rapidly approaching. I hope you save the date, Wednesday, May 17, from 6:30 - 8:00 for a look at our farm display. ~Mr. G. Sculptures of animals in progress. Can't wait to see them finished!
